Long Beach Community Medical Center Foundation was founded in 1973 to provide philanthropic support to the medical center. Over the past two decades, the Foundation and its generous friends have donated over $15 million to support the medical programs at Long Beach Community Medical Center. How Do We Raise Funds?
The Foundation raises funds through various components: Planned Giving, Capital Campaigns, Support Groups, and Special Events.
Planned Giving is a growing area for the Foundation. Our staff is available to discuss or assist friends who are considering such a gift.
Capital Campaigns have been very successful for the Foundation and have allowed the medical center to continue providing quality care with state-of-the-art equipment. Some of our past campaigns include: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Heart Center, and Open Heart Surgery Suite. We are now in a campaign to raise $5 million for our new Long Beach Community Cancer Center.
Who Supports Us?
Support Groups provide an opportunity for friends in the community to join in our fundraising efforts. Our employee-only support group is the Employees' Foundation Committee. Our external support groups, which non-LBCommunity people can join, include: Las Damas de la Plaza, the Richter Club, Moms helping Moms, the Auxiliary, and the Fillmore Condit Founders' Club. The support groups sponsor several events throughout the year.
The Foundation is governed by the Board of Directors comprised of leaders in the community who volunteer their time.
