Teeny Golf Classic (Date To Be Determined)
The Teeny Classic is a miniature golf tournament for the entire family sponsored by the Richter Club. This event is modeled after the popular Community Classic Golf Tournament -- but in kid-size format -- to offer a morning of fun for our "junior" members and their family and friends. The Teeny Classic includes the tournament, followed by an awards banquet and lunch at Bullwinkle's. This event is geared toward providing entertainment for kids while raising funds for the medical center.
Surf & Sun Community Classic (June 20, 1997)
Our successful Community Classic Golf Tournament and Auction brought together leaders from all aspects of the business sector, including friends of Long Beach Community Medical Center. After enjoying a beautiful and fun day on the golf course, everyone went to the Willow Street Center for the Las Damas de la Plaza auction, dining, and dancing.
Samantha' Ice Cream Social (March 15-16, 1997)
More than 750 doll collectors and people who yearn for the simple refinements of a bygone era attended the much anticipated "Samantha's Ice Cream Social," which was held on March 15 and 16 at the Willow Street Center. Enthusiasm was high! Event Chair, Anna Walsh, and Las Damas de la Plaza were excited by the tremendous reception of this new event. This treasured afternoon was filled with activities, including refreshments, a video, shopping, and socializing. The American Girl Collection is designed to bring history alive through books, dolls, dresses, and accessories for girls age 7 and up. Samantha's story depicts life just after the turn of the last century, circa 1904.
On behalf of Club '84, Tom Brady presents a check for over $14,000 in support of the S.A.R.T. program. Annette Kashiwabara and Malinda Waddell accept the contribution.
