Long Beach Community Medical Center's Support Groups include the following organizations:

If you are interested in finding out more about the above support groups, please read on. To make a gift or obtain more information, please call the Long Beach Community Medical Center Foundation at (562) 498-4536.

Fillmore Condit Founders' Club

In 1924, Fillmore Condit identified a need for Long Beach Community Medical Center to serve the people in the Long Beach area and made it a reality. He was so committed to this vision that when the hospital's income couldn't cover payroll, he would pay the employees out of his own pocket.

It is in his honor and philanthropic spirit that the Fillmore Condit Founders' Club was formed. Membership in this elite club is limited to supporters and friends of the Foundation who have donated $10,000 in cash, securities or property to Long Beach Community Medical Center Foundation.

Las Damas De La Plaza

Las Damas de la Plaza is a group of committed women who have supported Long Beach Community Medical Center since 1984. They have raised over $450,000 through their main fund-raising activities.

General meetings are held bimonthly in members' homes. Activities are planned quarterly for members. Members are encouraged to bring friends and acquaintances who may be interested in joining Las Damas.

Richter Club

The Richter Club is a support group comprised of enthusiastic young professionals who raise funds and serve as ambassadors to the community.

The Richter Club hosts two fund-raising events each year. General meetings are held bimonthly and at local restaurants. Guests are always welcome to attend. Additional mixers are held throughout the year.

Moms Helping Moms

Moms helping Moms is a family support group formed to meet the needs of its members by providing educational programs and recreational activities for mothers, fathers, and children. The group also creates an atmosphere for socializing, networking, and exchanging ideas.

Activities include play groups, monthly educational meetings, barbecues, holiday parties, Moms' Night Out, events for dads, and more. Members may also participate in a baby-sitting co-op.

Over the last few years, Moms helping Moms' activities have grown to include fund-raising. They host a holiday boutique, rummage sale and a wine tasting event with proceeds benefiting the medical center.

Moms helping Moms has something for everyone in the family.

If you would like additional information about Moms Helping Moms, please contact Chris Moses in the Education Department at (562) 498-4401.

Employees Foundation Committee

For many of the employees, Long Beach Community Medical Center is more than just a place to work, it's a second family. The Employees Foundation Committee consists of employees representing various departments who volunteer their time and talents to boost morale and raise money among the Long Beach Community Family. Our Employees' Foundation has received national attention for its contribution level and serves as a model for many other institutions.

Community Club

The Community Club is a new organization comprised exclusively of employees who generously pledge $1,000 or more toward the Employees' Fund benefiting the medical center.
