Volunteer Opportunities
You Can Be A Volunteer !
Over 400 Very Special People of all ages volunteer their time at Long Beach Community Medical Center. Each year, volunteers provide over 70,000 hours of time to augment staff activities in over 75 departments or areas. Some of the opportunities for involvement include:
- The Gift Shop serving our employees and guests seven days a week
- The Cuddler Program in our neonatal intensive care unit
- The Student Volunteer Program serving many patient care areas
- The Volunteer Clerical Pool (friendly work among friends)
- The Information Desk, our first contact with visitors and families
- Patient Transportation, during admission and discharge
- Patient Relations Volunteer Program, making our patients feel at home
- and many more.
Each volunteer is given plenty of training and a job suited to individual preference and schedule.
